Nadine West Review Month 7: Initial Thoughts

First things first, I have to let you know that this package took FOREVER to arrive. However, this was not an issue with the company itself, but with the shipping company, and Nadine West was great to work with throughout that time. I received a text on June 22nd that my package had shipped. The company was the first to contact me on July 2nd saying that the shipping seemed to be taking longer than normal, and they would be adjusting my due date for the clothes accordingly.

When you receive a package, you have a specific date on the package label that you must ship any unwanted items back. If you don’t want to be charged for all the contents of the package, you need to make sure and send the unwanted items back by the deadline with the return shipping label they provide.

My package did not arrive until July 22nd or 23rd. I kept in contact with the company throughout that time to make sure I wouldn’t get charged for items I hadn’t received yet. Once I received my package, I did a live opening on my Instagram stories, so that was fun.

My initial thoughts:

  • I was loving the look of almost all the pieces in this package
  • This bag was super full with 7 clothing items and one pair of earrings
  • I was sure we’d be keeping some items between myself and my daughter

Shirts

Shirts were not the highlight of this arrival, but still worth discussing my thoughts. I initially loved the look of this black floral chiffon shirt. However, I’m not a fan of wearing spaghetti straps without a sweater or jacket, it hits me just at a length I don’t care for, and the price was above what I would pay for most any shirt. Three strikes and it’s out. And the black ribbed tank top? Not really worth my time or money. I didn’t even try it on because I knew it would be too small. and it’s not something that me or my daughter needed.

Pants

I was impressed to find 2 pants and a skirt in one package. Although, I don’t usually think their pants will fit my long legs, so I was thinking if they did fit anyone, it would be my daughter.

The burgundy striped pants are seriously the softest thing ever! I tried them on myself and was expecting them to be super short and look ridiculous. They were actually longer than I anticipated and worked better for me than I thought they would (and did I mention so soft?). However, there were just skinny enough on me that they looked off. This style of pants is not extremely baggy, but they do usually have a little bit of give. They did not have that give on me. I thought for sure my daughter would fall in love with them. She gave them a try, they fit her perfectly, and she agreed they were absolutely the softest most comfortable thing ever. However, she did not care for the print and decided if we kept them she would end up just wearing them around the house as lounge/pajama pants. I didn’t want to spend the money on another pair of lounge pants for her, so they’re sadly headed back to the company.

These olive and white striped pants look adorable on my daughter. I didn’t even attempt to try them on cause I knew they wouldn’t fit. But, they were automatically a no from her. They look adorable in pictures, but the material is stiff and scratchy. So back they go.

Skirt

I’m not usually a camo print type person, but I love pencil skirts, I love the ruching on this skirt, and I was liking the longer length. My immediate thoughts were I was definitely giving this one a try, and if I loved the fit, maybe it was time to step out of my comfort zone. Well, I do love the fit and style of this one, and it’s super comfy which is always a plus. And, I have this yellow top and a pink top that both look good with it. So, I decided I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and keep it. I asked my husband, and he wasn’t so sure it was my style (because of the camo), but I’m willing to keep it and give it a try!

Dress/Jumpsuit

Again, impressed with the fact that there was a dress and jumpsuit in this package. This floral dress is a soft and comfortable material, and I love the pattern. However, I knew from the get-go that the style would not work for me and the dress would most likely be too small. And I was correct on both accounts. I got my daughter to try it on. She agreed the print was pretty but didn’t like how it felt or how it fit (this the cross arms in front). So, back it goes.

I think most rompers look comfortable, and this one is no exception. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t fit me but tried it on anyway, and again I was correct. However, for my daughter it was love at first sight, before she even tried it on. So, when she tried it on, and it was a good fit, it was a no brainer to keep this one for her.

As a side note, there was a pair of cat earrings in the package as well. Definitely a no from me. I don’t love cats enough to want to wear them on my ears.

Nadine West Review Month 7: Conclusion

Out of 7 clothing items and one set of earrings we ended up keeping 2 items. I’m happy with that ending, as my purpose in this is not to keep every item I receive. However, I did love a lot of the pieces in this package, and if some of them would have fit better they may have been keepers. It seems many of these boutique styles run a bit small, so I plan to edit my account and size up, and we’ll see what happens.

  1. I really like the floral on the first singlet top. I think it’s great that you break down each outfit and discuss your honest opinion of them all.

  2. ooh they look really nice on you, ladies. I like the sort of haltered top, I’m not sure it will fit my figure right now, though, as I’m a bit on the weighty side right now. Not sure if Nadine West ships overseas.

  3. I really like those tops. Thank you for the review. The black tank top with the flowers was my favorite.

  4. That dress is a cute print! It’s too bad the fit didn’t work out. However, that jumpsuit looks like it was made for your daughter. So cute!
