7 Valentine’s Day Ideas for Singles

I always tend to think about my single friends around this holiday. For some, watching others celebrate the love of their life on Valentine’s Day is difficult. It becomes more of a day of mourning that they don’t yet have the same. For others, it’s just another day and it doesn’t bother them.

If you’re single, whatever side of the spectrum you are on, Valentine’s Day is a holiday, so why not celebrate?! I understand that celebrating with friends does not bring the romance that a spouse does, but why not take this holiday to celebrate where you are in life right now? Why not celebrate yourself and your friends and the life you are living now? I have compiled for you a list of Valentine’s Day ideas just for singles.

7 Valentine’s Day Ideas for Singles

• Probably the easiest and most traditional method is sharing Valentine’s Day cards. Grab yourself some cute cards like these greetings cards below and hand them out to all your single friends. Or maybe you’re the handmade type of gal. Go for it! There are TONS of ideas out there in the Pinterest world.

• Plan a Girl’s (or guys) Night Out with your besties. Also known as Galentine’s Day. Make reservations at your favorite local restaurant and make an evening of it celebrating each other.

• Pick out a special gift to give to your best friend on Valentine’s Day. This is something above and beyond a card. A gift you know they will love that will show your appreciation for them. Find their favorite perfume or makeup, or grab some shirts for your girls night out.

• Similar to Girl’s Night Out, host a dinner party just for singles. Pull out all the stops. Use the fine china (or borrow from your mom), use goblets, and get some flowers for the table centerpiece.

• Maybe the more extravagant things are not your style. Have a movie night in with your girls.

• Do a chocolate taste test. Uhm, yes please! do this on your own if you don’t want to share, or invite a few others over just to eat chocolate! Tip: stop by your local candy shop and get some fresh chocolates.

• Treat yourself to a haircut or color, a massage, or a mani/pedi.

Whatever you do, do something to celebrate you, to celebrate your friends, to celebrate LIFE!
