5 Easy Family Friendly Party Snacks

Whether it’s Super Bowl Sunday, New Year’s Eve, or just a fun get together with friends, everyone always wants some good snacks at a party. Today I’m going to share with you 5 easy family friendly party snacks.

I mean, who doesn’t love a good party snack?! My family is spread hours away, so anytime we are together, whether it’s around a holiday, in the summer, or whenever, we always make one night a “snack food night”. Because, like I said, who doesn’t love a good party snack?

Now, I could make an entire list of party snack ideas that my family loves. Some are more time consuming to make, and some are less time consuming. And, sometimes you just don’t have the time to make the ones that take more time. Or, maybe you’re someone who doesn’t like to cook and making appetizers or party snacks seems like a daunting task to you. Or, maybe like me you have a ridiculously picky child. Well, I have 5 super easy options to share with you that are also delicious. Most of them take just minutes to throw together. Nothing difficult or fancy here, yet will still make the mouth smile.

In a time crunch and have a party to go to? Make one of these 5 easy party snacks, and you’ll be set! No chopping, rolling or precooking ingredients involved. No recipe “easy” recipes that include lots of ingredients. We’re talking 3-4 ingredients, mix and done! They may be simple, but everyone loves them.

BBQ Little Smokies

Ingredients Needed:
1 pkg Little Smokies
1 bottle preferred BBQ sauce

Grab a package (or two or three) of little smokies, cocktails size sausages from the store and your favorite barbecue sauce. Hillshire Farm brand is a personal favorite. Dump the little smokies and barbecue sauce into a slow cooker or pot on the stove and heat until warm. And viola, you’re done! Serve warm.

Ranch Oyster Crackers

Ingredients Needed:
1 bag oyster crackers
1 ranch packet dry mix
1/4 c vegetable oil

My two youngest especially love this easy snack. Sometimes I just keep them around the house.

You’ll need a bag of oyster crackers, a package of dry ranch seasoning and 1/4 cup vegetable oil. I dump my crackers and seasoning into a large zipper baggie. I then add about half the oil and gently shake then add the remaining oil and shake well. If you prefer to mix in a bowl by all means feel free.

At this point you can eat the crackers as is, however, most people, myself included prefer to bake them. This helps them not be so oily and have a nice toasted flavor. Bake at 250 degrees. I would check after 15 minutes. Bake until browned as desired, 15-25 minutes. Let cool and serve.

Fiesta Ranch Dip

Ingredients Needed:
16 oz. sour cream
1 Hidden Valley Fiesta Ranch packet dry mix
vegetables of choice or chips

Mix sour cream and fiesta ranch packet until well blended. Serve chilled with your choice of vegetables and or chips. I mean, can you really get any easier that this?!

Meat & Cheese Tray

Ingredients Needed:
Choice of pre-sliced meats (pepperoni, salami, ham rounds, etc)
Choice of pre-sliced cheese squares
Crackers

Simple as can be, yet something everyone loves. Simply arrange the meat, cheese, and crackers on a tray and off you go. For easiest assembly I would suggest pre-sliced meat in small round shapes (thus no chopping or folding) as well as the pre-sliced cheese squares that are already cracker size. Of course any meat and cheese will work, the above will just save you time.

And, any favorite cracker will work. I prefer the assorted box of crackers often available at Aldi (similar to these) or a sesame seed cracker. Whatever you like, go with that in case you come home with leftovers!

Brownies

Ingredients Needed:
Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie mix
1/2 c vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 Tbsp water

Yep, boxed brownies. It’s true. I’ve had many a guest who hail my brownies as the best, and I have to admit… they’re boxed! And, they’re basically the easiest dessert you can make. Mix all ingredients together and pour in a greased baking dish, then bake. I mean, you can’t have a party without a dessert!

A few tips I’ve learned to make them the best.

  • Use Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie mix. Every time.
  • Use what I call a brownie pan, or a 7×11 pan. Why this pan isn’t listed as a pan option on the box, I have no idea. But, I probably wouldn’t follow the suggested baking time anyway.
  • Find the perfect baking time for your oven. For my oven that time is 23 minutes on the dot. You may have to play around with yours until you find the perfect time. You want them cooked through (not gooey) but still nice and fudgy, not overdone. If you’re not sure how long to cook the brownies in your oven, I would suggest checking them at 20-22 minutes. You can always put the timer on longer if needed, but if you over cook them not much can be done.

Why not give these 5 easy family friendly party snacks a try?

And now, BOTH of my daughters have learned the art of making the best brownies. My 7 year old made them all on her own for the first time just this week. She was SO proud. And I have to say, so was I. She did everything on her own (with my supervision), including turning on the oven, gathering all ingredients, measuring, putting in and taking out of the oven, etc. I did help her with 2 small things she couldn’t do on her own. Spraying the brownie pan (her finger wasn’t strong enough), and helping her pour the rest of the batter in the bowl. If a 7 year old can do it, then I think it fits right into these 5 easy and family friendly party snacks.
