I have something new I’m adding to the blog. At the end of every month (or possibly the beginning of the following month) I’m going to share with you a favorite finds roundup of some of my favorite things I discovered that month. So, this month we have the Favorite Finds September Roundup.
I might share items I love and use often in a particular month or season. Or, I might share something brand new that I think you might love too! My round up will mostly consist of products I’m loving, but might include some other favorites like links to recipes, favorite songs, blogs, etc.
I hope you enjoy this new addition to the blog and look forward to coming back each month to check out what I have to share! I’m excited to share some of my favorite things with you from this past month of September.

Favorite Finds for my September Roundup
Close to Home Decor Box

I have this gorgeous wooden box sitting on my kitchen island most of the year. You can find it filled with various items throughout the year. You might find it full of fruits, or onions and avocados. Sometimes you’ll find fresh flowers or seasonal decor. I have to admit, my absolute favorite is in the fall, when I bring out my fall decorations and load up this decor box with canning jars, fall flowers and pumpkins. It gives me all the feels and puts a smile on my face. Hot or cold outside, September is the month for me to pull out the fall decor. Of course, this box is great all year long (Christmas is another favorite).
This season you can grab this decor box in natural wood like mine, or you can get it in a beautiful grey wash.
Fondue and Tabletop Grill
I put these together because we almost always use them together. These are both items that I have had since we got married. I have no idea now who bought them for us, but whoever did was brilliant! We used them fairly often as a young married couple with our other young married couple friends. We would make a night of grilling at the table followed by some delicious fondue dessert. You could do fondue for your main dish as well, but we enjoy the grilling. For several years we didn’t use these the fondue pot or grill often because… littles. If yours are all little, this might not be the best adventure.

Well, my children are a little more grown now (6-12), and I decided this month to add a special meal to my menu plan. We had so much fun pulling out these favorites for my husband and I that we now got to share with our kids. To do a 3-course meal like we did takes quite some time, but it made for a great family night spending quality time around the dinner table. Even more so than a typical dinner at the table. Great conversations and good food. Can’t get much better than that! While the cost of the meal may have been a little more than our typical family meal, it was a fraction of the cost to go out to eat or do a paid activity outside the home.
I shared a little of our fun night on my social media, and a friend piped in that her family has the tradition of doing fondue every New Year’s. I’m not for sure what our new tradition will be yet, but we will be making a new tradition out of this fondue and table top grill!
For something you’ll use in the center of the table like we do, I would suggest a pot that uses gel fuel to warm it, like this one.
It took me a while to find the exact tabletop grill we have, but I finally did. I guess that’s what happens when you got yours over 14 years ago!
Downton Abbey
If you’ve never watched any Downton Abbey episodes, I would highly suggest that you… go and watch it right now! Downton Abbey is a PBS Masterpiece Classic series that can currently be streamed on Amazon Prime Video. I was an avid fan of the show when it originally aired on PBS. I basically spent the month of September binge-watching all 6 seasons again in preparation for the release of the Downton Abbey movie in theaters.

And, you may have guessed it already. My wonderful husband took me to see the movie on opening night. If you hurry, you can still watch it in theaters. The good news, for those of you that haven’t watched the series but want to watch the movie, is that according to my husband he was presently surprised that he enjoyed the movie. And, he has never watched any of the television episodes. However, if you want to full effect and want to know all the ins and outs of the family story, I would suggest watching the original television series on Amazon and then watching the movie when it releases on video (or streaming, or whatever your watching preference may be).

LCD Writing Tablet
I’m sure I’m behind the times and am the only mom that didn’t know these existed. At the end of August I happened upon these LCD Writing Tablets for a steal-of-a-deal on a fellow blogger’s deal page that I follow on Facebook. You can follow her at Fun2FindDeals. I’ve found some great deals on her page.
So, going back to the tablets, I decided to pick these up for a little something different for my kids. I was thinking they could use them on the hour drive to gymnastics twice a week and evening church services. I wasn’t sure if they would like the tablets at all, but I was pleased that they loved them!
These tablets are just something a little different than anything else they have. It doesn’t take batteries, and you can write and reuse as much as you want. Simply draw or write, then press the little trash can button and away it goes! Sort of like an updated Etch-a-sketch. This was a great purchase for us, and I would recommend it for anyone with kids. Little or big.

I hope you found something helpful in this post that you might enjoy for yourself or your family. I’d love to hear from you! What were some of your favorite things this month?

I love the fondue and tabletop grill! This is such a great idea for something different and fun for dinner.
My mom has had a table top fondue pot since I was in middle school and it’s never been out of the box and I’m 35! Maybe I need to finally test it out!
I’d say it’s high time to give it a try!
